Cellwood Machinery AB, History
1913
Cellwood Machinery has long and successful traditions. The company grew out of ABKristdala Motorfabrik, founded in 1913.
1953
Per Olof Stenberg took over Kristdala Motorfabrik, which began to manufacture on a small-scale of equipment such as reject refiners for the pulp and paper industry. At the same time, the company name was changed to Kristdala Maskinfabrik.
1963
The company changed name once more to Krima Maskinfabrik and the trade name Krima was established.
1964
Cellwood has been situated in Nässjö since 1964.
1972
The Cellwood Group was formed when Krima Maskinfabrik AB and AB A K Eriksson in Mariannelund were merged under one “umbrella” with AB A K Eriksson as the parent company. From this point Krima Maskinfabrik is referred to as Cellwood Machinery AB. In conjunction with this change, Cellwood Machinery’s products were targeted at high consistency refiners, dewatering equipment and dispersing systems for recycled paper.
A full scale research plant was built. This would prove to be an important step in becoming a world leader in the development of cost-effective technology and equipment for secondary fibre preparation.
1973
The first Krima Dispersing system was delivered and today it is one of the company’s best known and successful trade names.
1976
Grubbens Fractionator (Cellwood Grubbens AB, Stockholm) was acquired. The company developed, manufactured and sold equipment to the pulp and paper industry, including pulpers, deflakers, HD-cleaners and pumps.
1992
It was decided to combine the Cellwood Machinery AB and Cellwood Grubbens businesses. At the same time, all activity was concentrated in Nässjö. The merger has proved very successful and sales of Grubbens products have increased twenty fold.
2000
A new Research & Technology centre including a full scale Pilot Plant for stock preparation was built.
